Candice L. Michael, Esquire is a licensed Florida attorney practicing marital and family law with a focus on children’s issues, domestic violence, and divorce. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from the University of Florida in 2009, and her Juris Doctor degree from Howard University School of Law in 2014. Ms. Michael was admitted to license law in the state of Florida in 2014.
Ms. Michael began her legal career as a Judicial Law Clerk in the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands, and later developed her career as a litigation attorney while working for Florida Rural Legal Services, Inc. in Fort Myers, Florida, and Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., in Miami, Florida. Ms. Michael has successfully advocated, and obtained favorable results, for countless clients in marital and family law cases in Charlotte County, Lee County, Glades County, Hendry County, Desoto County, Broward County, and Miami-Dade County. Her experience with various case types incudes, but is not limited to contested divorces matters, to guardian advocacy, relative adoption, paternity, temporary custody by extended family members, and child support matters. Ms. Michael also has litigation experience with private and federally subsidized landlord-tenant cases.
As the Founder and President of The Michael Law Firm, P.A., Ms. Michael devotes herself to providing each client with calculated, professional, and trusted representation in their legal matters. When she is not advocating for her clients, she volunteers her time to various organizations that uphold and advocate for causes that she firmly believes in. Ms. Michael currently serves on the Executive Board of several local organizations.
She also enjoys spending time with family, cooking, reading, traveling, baking, and the performing arts.
Just recently, Ms. Michael has been recognized and honored as a member of The National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, for her outstanding work within the legal profession.
